Ku Interior Design Wins in Design Competition

Michelle Ku, owner and principal of Ku Interior Designs and member of the LoDo District Inc., recently won first place for Secondary Bathrooms the Rocky Mountain Chapter’s National Kitchen & Bath Association’s design competition.
The renovation blends timeless charm with modern function by reconfiguring the layout to center a freestanding tub beneath the window and dramatically improve flow. Classic materials, warm wood, and bold floral wallpaper create a serene, character-rich retreat that honors the home’s 1910 origins while meeting contemporary needs.

In a month-long promotion, Jax is dishing up Crispy Skin Alamosa Striped Bass with Olathe creamed corn and heirloom tomato pico. Says culinary director Sheila Lucero, “We have been using this hybrid striped bass farmed here in Colorado for many years. It comes from an on-land fish farm in the high San Luis Valley. The Olathe corn and heirloom tomatoes come from Tuxedo Farms on the western slope. Working with local farmers, ranchers, and fishers is one of the best parts of what we do. These relationships go way beyond ingredients—they’re about supporting each other, sharing stories, and staying connected,” says Sheila Lucero, Centro & Jax Culinary Director, Big Red F. “Colorado has so much to offer year-round, and it’s exciting to keep celebrating that—not just in August, but twelve months a year.”
On National Oyster Day (Aug. 5), indulge in Happy Hour Oysters all night long. Two-dollar Crackerjax oysters!
