New Life for the Barth Hotel

The LoDo District Inc. has been following closely the recent efforts to redevelop the historic Barth Hotel. We have been communicating with the City and the two interested developers as they pursued their visions for this important property. Our official policy regarding the Barth has been to acknowledge the benefits of both developers’ plans and to urge speedy resolution toward renovation and reactivation of an important LoDo corner. Now, thanks to the Downtown Denver Development Authority and their $6 million loan to Eaton Senior Communities and its partners, it looks like the building’s future might moving towards resolution. The Lodo District will continue to follow this important project as it moves through the process, and we will keep our members updated.
The LoDo District wants to acknowledge both Walter Isenberg of Sage Hospitality and Sue Powers of Urban Ventures for their vision and determination to breathe new life into the stately Barth Hotel. Walter and Sue have both been and are consequential members of the LoDo community and contribute greatly to the neighborhood and city that we all love. We are lucky to have both of them.
