Albanian-American drummer and bandleader Shane Dähler is the founder of the contemporary jazz quintet DARUMA, has toured and recorded with renowned rapper Action Bronson, performed internationally with the Trinidadian Afro-jazz steelpan orchestra Siparia Deltones, and has showcased as a bandleader at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
He was awarded a place on the 2025 Creative Capital shortlist and received a 2024 South Arts Jazz Road touring grant. He has also appeared on NPR, PBS, and CBS stations throughout the United States.
Shane has performed and conducted workshops in Cuba, the Netherlands, and the UK, and has been an artist in residence in Trinidad & Tobago with the Deltones Institute of Steel Drums & Music, where he was personally recognized by the country’s President, Christine Kangaloo. Shane attended the New England Conservatory as a merit scholar, where he was mentored by NEA Jazz Masters Billy Hart, Ra Kalam Bob Moses, and Dave Holland.
Shane is currently endorsed by Paiste Cymbals and Remo Percussion, and returns to Dazzle Denver following previous sold-out appearances at the venue with DARUMA.
