At its first-ever Family Day, MCA welcomes families to explore the museum at their own pace and then head upstairs to the Idea Box for a hands-on artmaking workshop. Art Garage will lead an art activity based on the work of exhibiting artist Sammy Seung-min Lee, with support from museum staff and MCA Denver teen interns.
Additional experiences include a Disney-themed karaoke room, inspired by Lee’s piece Moonlight in Colorado, where families can sing their favorite classics together with real princesses, as well as the opportunity to shop at the art convenience store on the third-floor exhibition featuring artwork by Anise Aiello and MCA Failure Lab Teens. All proceeds from the convenience store support MCA Youth Programs, helping MCA continue to provide creative opportunities for young people.
