In the first of its 2025 series of Cocktails in Cool Places, Historic Denver invites you to Welton Street in the Five Points neighborhood to learn how zoning laws were used to segregate neighborhoods and ensure places like Five Points were kept as minority communities and how they affected individual families and their ability to choose where they lived in Denver. After a presentation at the Blair Caldwell branch by Denver Public Library Special Collections Librarians Brian Trembath and Katie Rudolph, walk three blocks along Welton Street to the site of the historic Douglass Mortuary there to enjoy cocktails and light appetizers while learning about the building and its current use.
