McPherson is widely recognized as a composer, having written for ballet and chamber ensembles as well as jazz combos. Over the last three decades, Terell Stafford has established himself as one of the premier trumpeters of his era. Stafford is heard on more than 130 albums and has performed with jazz luminaries including Kenny Barron, Jimmy Heath, McCoy Tyner, Jon Faddis, Diana Krall and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.
