Pianist/composer Michael Wolff and drummer/composer Mike Clark first met in the 1970s as teenagers in San Francisco. They began playing together soon after and immediately formed a deep musical and personal bond. Today, in 2025, they continue to perform, record, and tour together.
Their individual résumés are extensive. Each has played and recorded with some of the greatest names in jazz, including Herbie Hancock, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter, and many more.
As a duo, Wolff & Clark perform original compositions, jazz standards, and occasionally offer their own take on tunes by artists such as Prince or The Beatles. Their collaboration brings a rare combination of experience and vitality. The result is music that is exciting, soulful, and beautifully expressive—it takes you on a journey. Wolff & Clark have released two albums as a duo, both of which reached the Top 10 on jazz radio.
