Frequently Asked Questions About a LoDo Membership

We at the LoDo District like to say that “LoDo is a state of mind.” While the LoDo Historic District has strict boundaries for historic preservation, the LoDo District Inc. has member businesses all over downtown Denver, and our borders are wider: to the south, the alley between Larimer and Market streets; to the north, I-25; to the east, 20th Street; and to the west, halfway into Auraria, Ball Arena area, and RiverMile. (The historic district’s boundaries are, to the south, the alley between Larimer and Market streets; to the north, Wynkoop Street;  to the east, 20th Street and to the west, Speer Boulevard.)

We’re a Registered Neighborhood Organization that represents both the residential and commercial communities, and functions as a LoDo-specific chamber of commerce, visitor’s bureau, advocacy agent, and marketing entity.

The LoDo District receives no government funding and depends entirely on member donations to fund all projects, initiatives, events, and communications. Membership dues go directly toward community impact and operational costs.

LoDo Cares is a philanthropic organization that partners the LoDo District with the LoDo Neighborhood Association (LoDoNA) to give back to the neighborhood in a variety of ways. Cherry Creek clean-ups and partnerships with Women’s Homelessness Initiative and Showers for All are just two of the ways we engage people from diverse backgrounds to come together meaningfully to make a difference in LoDo.

We host a variety of networking events, including member gatherings and happy hours, and encourage members to see spaces they may have never had access to via our member businesses. Committee meetings are a great way to connect with our network of business leaders and property owners in Lower Downtown.
