 Downtown Area Plan Adopted

On Monday, Nov. 17, Denver City Council voted to adopt the 2025 Downtown Area Plan, the next 20-year vision for the hub of our city. “Downtown is everybody’s neighborhood, and this plan makes that real. The Downtown Area Plan gives us a clear path to create more homes, safer streets, and a city center that works for every Denverite,” said District 10 Councilmember Chris Hinds.

LoDo District Inc. co-chair Dick Farley testified to the Council ahead of the vote about the Plan, focusing on what it would do for Lower Downtown: improving 16th Street between Wynkoop and Blake and promoting two-way streets. He also advocated the consolidation of Speer Boulevard along Cherry Creek, eliminating barriers and connecting Auraria to LoDo.
