DESCRIPTION:Micah Miller is a composer\, performer and educator living in Denver. Micah grew up in Wyoming\, where he started learning piano\, trumpet and voice from a young age. He studied jazz trumpet and voice at the University of Northern Colorado\, and recently completed a Master’s in trumpet performance from the University of Wyoming. As a freelancing musician\, Micah plays around the Northern Colorado and Wyoming area in a variety of ensembles and musical settings. He recently released his debut album of original works for jazz quintet\, Why Not Here?\, in September 2023. Micah is currently the Adjunct Trumpet Professor at Regis University in Denver. \nProfessional guitarist Matt Fuller has relocated back to his home state of Colorado after living in NYC as a freelance musician and teacher from 2012-2015. In 2017 Matt released Simpatico Trio\, City Life\, his second album as a leader\, featuring NYC drummer Jeff Davis and Chicago guitarist Dave Miller. His debut album as a leader\, Waiting for Violet\, featuring Ron Miles\, was released in May 2014. Both albums are a collection of Matt’s original compositions. In addition to an active and varied performing schedule Matt is a dedicated educator. He currently teaches jazz ensembles and guitar classes at Denver School of the Arts and is a faculty member at Rocky Ridge Jazz Camp. Matt runs and teaches at the Lafayette Park Guitar Studio\, his private teaching studio in Lafayette\, CO. I had been sitting with the main motif of Naked Truth since the start of Covid. The eight note motif you hear at the start of Part II was the beginning of the whole process. I wouldn’t say the motif has been ‘haunting’ me exactly\, but it’s been accompanying me through this whole period and everything that I came to assemble for the album revolved around those eight notes and all the possibilities within them.” \nTickets begin at $30 each\, exclusive of fees.
