DESCRIPTION:Hosted at the Museum of Contemporary Art\, join the Latino Cultural Arts Center as you decorate your very own sugar skull in remembrance of a loved one. Sugar skulls are traditionally placed on altars or at cemetery graves during the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) celebration. This Mexican craft involves creating intricately designed skulls made from sugar\, serving as offerings to honor deceased loved ones. \nThe workshop will start with a grounding exercise led by a mental health provider\, followed by the art activity guided by the art facilitator. Participants will also be asked to complete a survey to provide feedback on the workshop. All supplies and materials will be provided\, along with a light snack and refreshments. \nThis free event is for ages 13-18. Parents and guardians are welcome to visit the galleries or the rooftop café during the event.
