Mindi Wardell | Director of Operations

Mindi came to Denver in 2008 for her second year of AmeriCorps, and she has been working with both the nonprofit and service industry worlds ever since. Getting her start as the membership coordinator for Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County, IN, Mindi’s passion for public service grew, and she found a natural fit performing civil service for AmeriCorps. She has been working in the nonprofit sector for over 15 years, working with such Denver and Colorado institutions as Denver Urban Gardens and the Seniors’ Resource Center. Concurrently, she came to know and love the city of Denver through its vibrant culinary and service culture, working with some of the best restaurant talents the city has to offer, and lending her organizational skills and charming personality to Denver classics like Olivea, Duo, and The Populist.

In 2015, Mindi took a professional leap, working with Cook Street School of Culinary Arts as Director of Marketing and Events, where she combined her passion for community outreach with her extensive knowledge of local food culture to vastly expand the school’s private events offerings and set a gold standard for front of house service. It was through Cook Street that she became acquainted with the LoDo District, and she was thrilled for the opportunity to apply for the role of Director of Operations.

In her free time, Mindi loves to travel, and has explored locales as diverse as Vietnam, Croatia, and Mexico City with her husband, Jason. She is also a dog and animal lover and can often be found exploring Denver’s dog parks and trails with her Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Penny. At the end of a long work day, her favorite way to relax is at the patio of one of Denver’s myriad restaurants, with her friends, family, and a well-chilled glass of bubbly Syrah.
